Food Collection Volunteer – Ad hoc sessions for holiday & sickness cover.

Collecting food donations for our busy hostel in Taunton, Lindley House.

Job description:

Would you like to make a difference to people who are struggling with homelessness or rough sleeping?  

Arc houses, supports and enables homeless people to maximise their potential. Working in Taunton, West Somerset and Sedgemoor, we strive for all homeless people to have a safe and supportive environment, where people can be inspired and empowered by their own strengths.  

Can you:  

• Drive your own vehicle  

• Spare one hour now and again.  

• Lift crates of groceries  

We collect food donations from various supermarkets & drop off points around Taunton. The collections are weekdays, evenings & weekends.
We are looking for someone to provide holiday and sickness cover for our regular Food Collections Volunteers, sometimes at short notice.  

You would be responsible for:  

• Covering food collections for volunteers who are on holiday or unwell 

• Picking up food donations from various donors.  

• Delivering it to Lindley House  

• Occasionally returning empty crates to the donor. 

We need to feed 40 people three meals a day, and without these food donations we would struggle, so if you don’t have a lot of time to spare but really want to help, we’d love to hear from you.  

Expenses reimbursed.
