Together we are changing Lives for the better!

Back in December the team from Ethic Street Pizza returned for another year to offer our clients free pizza from their pop-up kitchen. This is always such a popular event and provides our clients with an opportunity to socialise with friends and support workers from other properties. Fee and Emily did a fantasic job of keeping up with client requests, with one client saying "This is the best Pizza I've ever tasted!"

At the beginning of February, we held a Pamper Event for our female clients offering facials, haircuts, massages, and manicures. We had 4 local beauticians and therapists who donated their time for free, we provided coffee, cake and mocktails and everyone who attended had a self-care goodie bag to take home. This event was great for our client’s self-esteem, with many leaving with new hairstyles! We had some extremely happy ladies that appreciated being given the opportunity to indulge in treatments they couldn't normally afford. 

Also in February Local charity On Your Bike visited with some of their amazing team to donate pushbikes with locks, to a number of our residents. Many of them have previously completed the Earn-a-bike course with On Your Bike and have a keen interest in cycling and bike maintenance. Cycling provides practical, physical, and psychological benefits for our clients and many of them use their pushbikes to get to and from work. 

Just last week our Vetarans were provided with the opportunity to visit another local charity also called ARK. We have recently partnered with Ark at Edgewood on a new project aimed at supporting the Homeless Vetaran Community. ARK has 2 acres of land and woodland for people to relax, engage with others and improve their overall health and wellbeing and our veterans will be engaging with projects at the centre soon.
