If you don’t already know about the sleep out the idea is for participants to get sponsored to sleep outside, for just one night, in support of the local homeless community. By joining together in our sleeping bags and settling down under the stars, you could help us make a difference to the lives of homeless people in Somerset.
This year’s Big Sleep Out is taking place on
Saturday 15thJune in the car park at the back of our office at Number 7 The Crescent, Taunton. Full event details and registration forms can be found

The Sleep Out is our biggest fundraising event and all money raised helps us to continue providing the vital services that we do, to ensure no one must spend more than one night out in the cold.In addition, the Big Sleep Out raises awareness around homelessness locally and the full range of services that Arc provides.
It has always been an eye-opener for past participants but is also a very enjoyable evening for those that take part. Although the evening does show some of the harsh realities faced by rough sleepers, we must remember for us, it is only one night, and we have warm homes, comfy beds, and hot showers to return to the following morning!
Alongside us sleeping out for the night there will be live music from local artists and hot food available. There will be talks from past clients and some new additions to the entertainment at this year’s event! You will also be provided with cardboard, a cooked breakfast and a goodie bag for taking part.
We provide toilet facilities and ensure we’re kept safe with first aid and security on hand. The event is suitable for all ages, and you can come along as a group of friends / family / colleagues or come alone and meet lots of great people, all with a common goal – helping those who need it the most!
We understand that a night spent outside isn’t suitable for everyone, so we ask that if you cannot join us, please support us by spreading the word!
