Supporting Rough Sleepers during the Heatwave!
Small ways you can help Rough Sleepers stay safe
With temperatures recently reaching 35°C, many of us have been struggling to stay cool. For people rough sleeping, however, escaping the heat isn't always possible, making hot weather potentially life-threatening.
Extreme heat can cause dehydration, sunburn, heat exhaustion, and heatstroke, especially for those without regular access to drinking water, shelter, or shade.
There are simple ways we can all help. Offering a bottle of water, directing someone to a place where they can refill it, or letting them know about local support services can make a real difference. If someone appears confused, dizzy, unusually drowsy, or unwell in the heat, seek medical assistance immediately, as these can be signs of heatstroke.
