PAWS-ome!
Our PAWS project helps those experiencing homelessness who have pets to think about too.
We would hate for someone to have to part with their best friend, or have to make the choice between them and somewhere to live. Those experiencing homelessness often take great care of their pets, usually putting their pets before themselves! We realise the importance pets can have on mental health and wellbeing, which is why we are proud to be able to provide dog- friendly accommodation at both Lindley House and several satellite properties. Working alongside the Dogs Trust Hope Project, we support our clients with veterinary treatment, pet equipment, pet food, and preventative medicine such as flea treatment and wormers, although we often find that most is already being provided to the pet thanks to their responsible owners! We also write out accreditations where we assess the pets and write out recommendations for potential landlords, as pets are often a barrier for those seeking accommodation.
