No Place to Call Home – Shining a Light on Homelessness in Somerset

This October, join us for a moving and thought-provoking event marking World Homeless Day and Mental Health Day at the Brewhouse Theatre in Taunton.

No Place to Call Home will feature a screening of the award-winning film I, Daniel Blake, followed by a panel discussion with people who have experienced homelessness and those working on the front lines of support. Together, they’ll share the challenges, truths, and human stories behind the issue locally.

In Somerset, hundreds face housing insecurity, sofa-surfing, sleeping rough, or living in temporary accommodation. Many are also battling poor mental health, made worse by instability and isolation. This event is about raising awareness, building understanding, and showing how we as a local community can respond.

This event is more than a film night, it’s a space to listen, reflect, and better understand the complexities of homelessness and mental health in our community. Whether you come to learn, to connect, or to act, this promises to be an evening of impact and insight.
