Exciting Developments at the Allotment!
The sun has been shining on our allotment this month, and it’s bursting into life.
Our newly appointed lead allotment volunteer, Chantal Davey, has joined forces with Mike Newell, an ex-serviceman and experienced tree surgeon who has tended his own allotment for over 20 years. Bursting with ideas and enthusiasm, they have already begun planning and maintaining the plot.
Mike has pruned the trees in our orchard, giving them space to grow and flourish, while Chantal is drawing up plans to make the allotment productive and welcoming for everyone. Their energy and ideas are contagious, and it’s wonderful to see the allotment coming alive.
Together with our Volunteer Coordinator Gill Harrison and Trauma-Informed Lead Emma Harrington, lots of exciting plans are in place for the project, involving our clients and creating opportunities for everyone to get involved.
This is a very exciting development, and we are incredibly fortunate to have this wonderful resource free of charge. We are still looking for volunteers to help, if you’d like to be part of this growing community, please contact Gill at [email protected].
