Harvest Festival
A big thank you to everyone who donated fantastic Harvest Festival donations this year!
Each year we're so grateful and overwhelmed with the lovely harvest festival donations we receive from local nurses, schools, colleges and churches. We feel very lucky to have such a supportive community and one that cares so much about assisting homeless individuals.
The majority of harvest festival donations are given to Lindley House, our largest hostel, housing 57 individuals and providing 3 meals per day, 7 days a week. The donations help us to provide a healthy, nutritious and varied menu for our clients.
Other items will be used to distribute to clients in our ‘move on properties’ when they are in need. These properties are designed to be more independent and therefore clients are not provided with the 3 meals per day. We therefore like to have a stock of non-perishable food available for when clients are struggling.
Here are some photos of just some of the donations we received over the harvest festival season...
As always, Ruishton Primary School donated their
Harvest Festival donation to us in beatifully decorated
paper bags. Filled with fantastic food donations!
We had a lovely visit to Highgrove Nursery to pick up
a lovely collection of fresh produce homegrown at the
nursery itself, along with non-perishable items.
Pictured are our 2 Fundraisers, Rosie Sandy and Rosie
Hather with staff and children from the nursery.
St John's Primary School in Wellington donated a
fantastic range of food items and Rosie Sandy (pictured)
had the pleasure of meeting lots of their lovely students.
Queen's College Prep School donation was our last
collection and as always, they stunned us with the
amazing amount donated. We filled a whole van!
Pictured are our fundraisers, the 2 Rosies who filled the
van and took it all straight to our hostel.
We want to say a huge thank you to all of the schools and churches and to all those who contributed to the amazing donations we received. The donations make such a great difference and keep us going for a while due to the amount we receive! We are very grateful for your support.
