Arc wins Charity of the Year 2021 at the Somerset Business Awards!
At Arc, we are over the moon to have been chosen as the Charity of the Year at the Somerset Business Awards 2021!
The Charity of the Year category was judged by Clarke Willmott and we were up against tough competition. Two fantastic charities, Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and Promise Works, were also finalists, so well done to them!
The Somerset Business Awards, run by the Somerset Chamber of Commerce, recognises exceptional work in the local area and includes all types of businesses, large and small. The online awards ceremony took place on Friday 26th March, with a live stream hosted by BBC journalist and broadcaster Claire Carter, and nervously watched by several Arc staff from home.
The Charity of the Year category required us to demonstrate not just how much money we raised, but how we put that money in good use for our cause in the local area. It also recognises the incredible contribution from our volunteers and the significant difference they make to those they work with. This has, of course, been made even more difficult this past year due to Covid-19, but it shows just how hard Arc work in supporting the homeless.
We have overcome so many obstacles in the past 12 months, the worst of which may have been losing the ability to support many of our clients face-to-face, but through working together and striving for the best care possible, we have still helped so many people. We are so thrilled that this has been recognised by others too!
We would like to thank the Somerset Chamber of Commerce for creating the event, and Clarke Willmott for selecting Arc as Charity of the Year. We would also like to thank The Hamper Guys for the delicious hamper provided to all finalists!
We look forward to (hopefully) seeing you all in 2022!
